Outdoors gifts guide: $20 and up

It’s almost Christmas time so it got us thinking about gift giving and the items that we love using.  Any of these outdoors gifts are sure to please the outdoor loving, adventuring seeking, and awesome people in your life!

America the Beautiful Pass

America the Beautiful annual National Park Pass. Outdoors gifts.

The best pass you’ll ever own

The National Parks were Americas best idea.  Paying $25 for each visit to a park is not.  Visit a park 4 times in a year and this pass pays for itself.  In addition to National Parks, the pass is honored at sites managed by the Forest Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation.  Pick it up at a National Park entrance for $80.

Microspikes

Great for adding traction on slippery slopes. Look like a pro on those busy trails by making quick work on the slippery section that everybody is busting their tailbone on.

Microspikes really come in handy

MSR Whisperlite Universal Camp Stove

The options for camp stoves can be overwhelming, so determine your needs.  I’ve used the MSR Universal for years in all conditions with no issues.  I got this one specifically for the fact that it can run on unleaded gasoline, which came in handy while traveling in South America.

Nothing beats a hot meal after a long day of hiking

Black Diamond Storm Headlamp

Probably the best accessory for camping is a quality headlamp.  It’s no fun trying to cook a meal or set up camp with a flashlight in your mouth.  This headlight has both white and red lights with dimming abilities.  You’ll be wondering why you didn’t get this earlier.

Headlamps are the greatest!

Leatherman Multitool

Carrying a tool for every job is impossible.  Carrying a single tool that can handle every problem is smart.  Leathermans are quality and last forever.

Works as a stir stick too!

Ruffwear Doggie Pack

Don’t forget about your best buddy…it’s a gift for both you and your pup!  Get this to lighten your load and let your dog carry a little of his own supplies.  Pack his food, collapsible bowl, and any other small items they might need!  REI no longer sells this dog pack, but Ruffwear makes a great one too.
